DW Helicam
A broadcast-accurate police helicopter FLIR camera system for FiveM, modeled after real-world Teledyne FLIR Star SAFIRE turrets used by agencies like CHP Air Ops, LAPD Air Support, and LASD Aero Bureau. If you've watched pursuit footage on YouTube, this will look immediately familiar. The overlay, telemetry, sensor labels, and operator workflow were built to be visually comparable to real broadcast frames, not just close enough.
Features
- Gyro-stabilized gimbal camera with smooth lerp stabilization
- Three vision modes: EO (color daylight), HEAT (thermal), NV (night vision)
- Four snap zoom presets mirroring real Star SAFIRE FOV stops (~120x max)
- Broadcast-style overlay with crosshair, compass strip, pan/tilt rings, CRT scanlines, and sensor indicators
- Three-state track correlator with vehicle and ped lock-on
- Locked target telemetry (plate, model, speed, heading, slant range, coordinates)
- Laser rangefinder with armed/active states
- Networked spotlight via StateBags with live brightness and radius control
- Autopilot with cruise, orbit, and hover modes
- Manual orbit on any world point
- Floating street name labels projected onto the road surface
- Optional postal code integration
Configurability
Everything lives in a single fully commented config file. Per-helicopter callsign, agency, camera offset, vision modes, and payload toggles. Display units, coordinate formats, camera behavior, zoom presets, lock-on timing, spotlight caps, autopilot tuning, UI colors, and access control are all server-tunable. Add custom helicopter models by copying a config block.
Keybinds
All keybinds are rebindable per player through Pause Menu, Settings, Key Bindings, FiveM.
Console commands are also available for toggling autopilot and force-clearing stuck locks.
Dependencies
No framework dependency. Works alongside ESX, QBCore, QBox, vRP, or whatever else you're running. Drop into resources, ensure DW-Helicam in server.cfg, and you're good.
